Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., of California, to be Secretary of Health and Human Services
Chamber(s): Senate
Pro-Healthcare Vote: Nay
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services presents a serious threat to people living with diabetes as well as public health for everyone because of his long history of spreading medical misinformation and undermining evidence-based healthcare. As HHS Secretary, he would lead the federal agencies responsible for medical research, healthcare access, and public health protection - despite having actively worked against these very missions by promoting conspiracy theories and anti-vaccine rhetoric. He has no relevant experience to lead HHS, and his appointment would threaten decades of progress in healthcare access, quality, and medical advancement.
